Otoe County Candidates Advance to November Election
Candidates for Otoe County's contested races for sheriff and county board are automatically nominated for the general election in November and will not appear on the May 13 primary ballot.
Nominated for sheriff are incumbent Democrat Jim Gress and Republican challenger Jeffrey Lant.
For county board District 2, are incumbent Rick Freshman and Democrat Dennis E. Meyer.
For county board District 3, are Democrat Jerad Sornson and Republican James L. Cook.
Nominated for Nebraska City finance commissioner are Tyler Avery and Mindy M. Briley.
For street commissioner are Dean Handy and Vic Johns.
Nominted for Syracuse City council are Kristy Henke, Alan Britton and Dee-Dee Staack.
Voters will narrow three candidates for District 2 state legislature. Two of the three candidates, Ron Nolte, Bill Kintner and Mel Luetchens , will advance.
Otoe County voters in District 2 are in Nebraska City precincts 11 and 13.
Board of Regents will also appear on the ballot. Candidates are Rob Schafer, Steve Glenn or Robert J. Prokop.
